Music Lounge

Music Lounge is Awakenest's space for music and sound.

Music Lounge at Stayfly is its physical home and recording and production space. Current sessions are published in the programme or confirmed by request.

The room, and what runs it

The room is a working studio. Its recording equipment and instruments are listed with the gear.

The instruments

Guitars, bass, piano, keys, saxophone, flute and percussion live in the room. What is here changes as people bring their own and leave them a while.

Music Lounge at Stayfly

Recording
One booking opens the whole room: the console, the vocal chain and every instrument on the gear page. Stayfly's crew gets you set up and rolling, and it is settled at the desk.

A house PA with digital mixing at the desk. The equipment page documents the current system; event use is confirmed for each booking or programme item.
The speakers and the chain
Hire stock
A small stock of sound equipment is available for hire: PA sets, monitors and more, listed with what is available. Rates are quoted directly and the team confirms each hire.

The technical pack

The gear page lists what is in the room. If you need more than that to advance a show, write to Stayfly and the team will send the technical pack: patching, power, stage plots, arrival.

Rates for studio time and equipment hire are quoted directly, and the team confirms every booking by reply.

Beyond recording

Rooms we can repeat

The same qualities that make a room good to record in make it usable for studying sound: a known space, a playback chain that behaves the same way twice, and control over level, source and timing. That is what lets a listening condition be set up, repeated and compared instead of merely described.
