Make something here with us

You have something you want to run: a workshop, a circle, a talk, a night of music, an idea nobody has tried yet. Bring it here. We have the rooms, the ground, the sound and the people who know where the extension leads are, and we would far rather build something with you than watch it happen somewhere else.

What there is to work with

If you are not sure which of these your thing belongs in, that is fine. Tell us what it is and we will find it somewhere to sit.

  • A room that stays quiet

    Indoors, with doors that close. For circles, courses, and anything where people need to hear each other.

  • Ground and shade

    Open ground and trees outside. For movement, for markets, for the things that want a whole afternoon.

  • A stage with sound

    The Music Lounge's house PA, and a desk with somebody on it who knows the room.

  • The kitchen and the café

    Where people eat, wait, and end up talking to each other.

And the gear: the sound, the instruments, the studio. Have a look at what there is and say in the form what you would want to use.

Who this is for

Anyone with something worth running: facilitators, musicians, teachers, cooks, makers, organisers. A circle of eight or a room that fills. First time or fiftieth: having never run one before is not a problem, it only changes how much of a hand we offer.

What we cannot do is hold something we would not stand next to. Awakenest is family-friendly, and we do not run anything that asks people to believe a health, income or investment claim we have no way to check. If we say no, we will say why.

What it costs

Proposing costs nothing, and there is no room-hire rate card to quote at you.

What it actually takes (the space, the gear, the hands, and whatever comes in at the door) is different for a Tuesday circle and a weekend, so it is worked out between us once we know which one this is. Not before.

    Every one, by a person. We reply by email, including when the answer is no.

    We work it out together

    The day, the room, what you bring and what we bring, and who is doing what on the morning.

  4. Step 4

    You run it

    With the room set up, the sound checked, and somebody from here on hand for the whole of it.

Tell us what you want to run

This is a proposal, not a booking. Nothing is scheduled, held or charged here. We read every one and reply by email, and what it takes to run it is worked out together from there. No account is needed.

A date, a month, or a season, whatever you know. Answering holds nothing.

A couple of lines is plenty. What happens, and who it is for.

A rough number is fine. A circle of eight and a crowd of eighty need very different rooms.

Sound, power, mats, tables, materials, a hand carrying things. Say what you bring yourself.

A first time is welcome. It only changes how much of a hand we offer.

A page, a profile, a recording, a photo of the last one. A first time has nothing to link to, and that is fine.
